Very Fast Band (VFB) exists in a space that defies easy categorization—a fusion of jazz, rock, video game music, and hyperactive improvisation, delivered with intensity, humour, and a touch of chaos. Led by guitarist and composer Harley Coleman, the band thrives on the tension between tight, structured forms and explosive improvisation, creating music that is bombastic, relentless, and absurdly fun.

Featuring some of Australia’s most exciting young improvisers—Tessie Overmyer (sax), Matt Harris (keys), Sabine Tapia (bass), and Ebs Daramola (drums), VFB has built a reputation through underground performances across Sydney, embracing an unpredictable, high-energy approach that refuses to sit neatly in any genre.

In 2024, the band recorded its debut album, with the first single set for release in April 2025. Harkening back to fusion traditions while reimagining them for a modern audience, VFB is a bold and unapologetic expression of contemporary creative music—loud, fast, and slightly unhinged.
